The best way to visit Lake Thun while staying in Interlaken! Start by visiting Alpine Ride to rent an E-bike or E-scooter. Then follow the route along the beautiful Aare River to the historic Weissenau Castle Ruins before reaching the peaceful waterfront of Lake Thun at Neuhaus.

There are many things you can do at the lake front including swimming, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, or just enjoying the views and sitting at the Neuhaus restaurant.

Next, you’ll return through quiet country roads through fields that are often full of cows until you reach the charming old town of Unterseen.

From Old Town Unterseen You continue along the Aare River towards the Center of Interlaken
You will pass by the casino, feel free to walk the E-bikes or E-scooters through the beautiful gardens in front of the casino.
Continue towards Interlaken Ost, until you once again meet the path along the Aare River going towards Lake Brienz.

The bike path will take you past a farm, it feels like you are driving directly through the farmer’s property (because you are) but this is completely normal in Switzerland.
The path will then turn to gravel along Lake Brienz and you will pass many great Instagramable viewpoints along the Lake.

You continue along the lake until you reach Bönigen where you can stop for a coffee, food, or to fill up your water bottle. Then you continue along the lake on the paved road for cars and bikes before turning back around and returning on back roads back to Alpine Ride. If you would like, you can also follow the route along the lake back the way you came to return back to the store.
